DISCOVER Negotiates License Agreement with UofA

If all goes well, there soon will be two “branches” of DISCOVER—one that maintains a connection to the University of Arizona and focuses on continuing research, and another that is an independent company called “The DISCOVER Projects”, dedicated to improving and expanding existing DISCOVER instruments.   The differentiation will allow us to develop DISCOVER in ways that are not possible within the University structure.  From your perspective, not much will change.  Most procedures and services will occur in similar ways as they do now.  However, some logistical issue will be different.  For example, the University of Arizona owns the rights to the DISCOVER Assessment and we currently are negotiating a license agreement for its use.  If the negotiations are successful, the DISCOVER Projects will license use of the Assessment from the University of Arizona, and you in turn will license its use from us.  The side of the license between schools/organizations and the DISCOVER projects will be posted on this website soon, at the bottom of the home page under the category “Assessment Resources/Contracts and Agreements”.

We will have more details available in the near future.  The negotiation process may take several months because of the various board approvals and legal meanderings associated with such a transition.  As always, we appreciate your continued support in making DISCOVER instruments successful.
