Tangrams

     The DISCOVER Assessment uses the standard plastic Tangrams that usually come in a set of seven (that fit together to make a 10 centimeter square).  You will need to buy 3 of the standard commercial sets of 7 pieces per set, and then recombine them into sets of 21, containing the following pieces:  6 large triangles, 3 medium triangles, 6 small triangles, 3 squares, and 3 parallelograms.  Each of the pieces within a set should be the same color but the color of different sets can vary (i.e. a set of 21 blue pieces, 21 red pieces, and so forth).  Each child participating in the Assessment will need a 21 piece set.  We recommend having extra pieces on hand to replace lost pieces.  Tangram pieces can be ordered from any number of school supply sources.  The outlet listed below is provided merely for convenience.  The seven piece set typically is priced less than $2.
