Toys Used for Oral Linguistic (Storytelling)

The storytelling exercises use small toys that come in specific categories.  Each table in the Assessment area should have access to a bag full of the following categories and numbers of toys: 10 people, 5 wild animals, 5 domestic animals, 5 “wheeled” toys, and 10 “things” (any category).  Each child at the table receives 2 people, 1 wild animal, 1 domestic animal, 1 wheeled toy, and one thing.  Traditionally we have recommended toys available from “Lakeshore Learning Materials”.  To order the proper sizes, reference the following catalogue numbers:  People 40 piece set (LA690X and/or LM437 and/or LG9171 and/or LG9293); Wild Animals (LC2729 and/or LA405 and/or LG9192); Domestic Animals (LC209); Wheeled Toy (VG918 and/or LG9124 and/or LG9293.  Have extra on hand to replace those that become damaged, lost, or souvenirs.
