Viewing Option #2: Video Viewing—Interactive Video Seminar 

     Computerized Video Viewing Seminars offer a highly flexible and cost-effective way of showing a group of any size exactly how various components of the Assessment work.  The video clips are in digital format and arranged in a versatile format, allowing the presenter to show a wide variety of clips, to address questions and interests of the audience.  A group might choose to watch an entire Assessment (mimicking the Live Assessment Viewing option) or watch highlights of various Assessments—with the same, or different, grade level(s)…or both.

     Another great feature of the Video Viewing Seminars is that other related topics can be integrated as well, according to audience interests.  For example, the presenter can mix in information about DISCOVER curriculum, classroom discipline, active learning, DISCOVER’s approach to ADHD, and many other topics.

     Similar restrictions apply for Video Viewing as are the case for Live Viewing.  The amount of Assessment procedural details revealed will depend on the audience and the purpose of the seminar. 

     Video Viewing Seminars are available as half-day or full-day sessions, if conducted in Tucson.  On-site Video Seminars are always full day, unless added to other scheduled services, in which case they are offered as either half-day or full-day sessions.  We especially recommend supplementing Workshops with a half or full-day Video Seminar.

     In Tucson:  Costs for Video Viewing Seminars are structured similarly to other DISCOVER seminars.  If DISCOVER organizes the seminar for general audience or teacher focus, we try to keep the costs at around $25 per person for a half-day.  Full-day seminars (for example, staff development, curriculum related) usually run around $45 per person.  If your school organizes the event, we charge a flat-rate speaker fee of $225 for half day of $400 for full day (if conducted by DISCOVER staff member); $350 for half day or 600 for full day (if conducted by Dr. Maker).  There is no limitation on the number of attendees. 

     On-site, in your school: 

     $400 flat-rate speaker fee, plus travel-related expenses, for half-day or $800 flat-rate speaker fee, plus travel-related expenses, for full day (if conducted by a DISCOVER staff member);

     $500 flat-rate speaker fee, plus travel-related expenses, for half-day or $1,000 flat-rate speaker fee, plus travel-related expenses, for full day (if conducted by Dr. Maker).

     Half-day seminars must be within a 200 mile radius of Tucson or be accompanied by other half or full day DISCOVER services.

     International:  Fees at locations outside of the continental U.S. will vary, depending on the distance and circumstances.  Please contact the DISCOVER office for a customized rate plan.
